Postcards from Isla · Day 30

Thanks for the beautiful day GG!

I got a message from my great grandma (GG) this morning that said «I wish you a sunny day». It’s either a coincidence or maybe my great grandma has powers 😊. But I am so glad it worked because today was one of the sunniest days I have ever seen. There has been sun but never the whole day. Today was the entire day, not a cloud in the sky. It was amazing.

It was a line day so I was in the kitchen making food! We had over 20kg of berries which needed to be used. So we divided into groups and made raspberry jam, plum jam, rips (red currant) jelly, and mixed berry saft (syrup which makes juice). I was in the raspberry jam group and made 12 jars 😱. We played music and it was just a really good chill vibe. Even though we were inside, the windows were open so we got to feel like we were.

After I got out of class, I of course had to go outside 😗. I went up to høgkubben which is a hiking trail off of the walking path I usually go on. It has an amazing view of the entire bay of Ålesund, literally just a walk from the folkehøgskole. I am glad I went with someone else because I would’ve gotten so lost if I went alone 😬. Also, there has to be some sort of angel watching over me because the amount of times I slipped and did not fall was insane…🫣.

I ended up eating 3 bowls of yogurt/granola for kveldsmat (I don’t know why I was so hungry) and tried a peanut butter stuffed date for the first time. It fully changed my life, I think I found my new favorite combo.

Anyways, thanks for the beautiful day GG! ❤️
