Postcards from Isla · Day 28

I felt pretty proud of myself after I reached the top

I missed Topptur (the summiting elective) last week so I was excited to go this time. Plus, it’s the first official day of FALL 🍁🍂!!! Hiking is definitely something I don’t do a lot of but when I do- do it, it’s extremely rewarding. Being on top makes you forget all about the grueling journey to get there.

I was quite tired but it wasn’t anything impossible. I felt pretty proud of myself after I reached the top because I didn’t trip ONCE on the way up, not even a falter. But I guess I should’ve known that I would make up my fair share of «trips» on the way down 🤦‍♀️.

It’s a miracle how none of them ended badly. I told the people behind me that they were getting quite the comedy show every time I slipped. They said that when I fell I would get up so fast like it never even happened (cause maybe if I get up fast enough no one notices 😳, but no they do 😂).

The wind was diabolical at the top (as soon as we were out of the trees), I genuinely thought that if I lifted a foot off the ground that I would blow away. My friend reassured me that would not happen 😇.

Arrived back to fish and chips with guacamole!!! (just kidding, it’s mashed peas), and I ate way too much fish 😟.

Then walked over to store later to try a popular Norwegian drink. Frus, a subtle fruity soda. Supposedly there was a battle between the two flavors (the one that gets bought the most, stays as a permanent flavor). I thought it was decent but nothing extraordinary. My friends said that I have to try a different flavor next time.

Winded down with some yoga before bed (a girl does yoga classes at least once a week). I think I got whiplash in my neck from jumping off the cliff (oh and a cold as well 🥲) so it felt really nice to stretch, breathe, and decompress. 🧘‍♀️
